My art is rooted in the land and rough beauty of Ontario. Born in Petawawa, then moving to the shores of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, I gained from these places a profound appreciation of the natural world, its harmony of land and water. The land has always been my anchor.
Colour, texture and light are the language of my paintings. I evolved naturally into an abstract painter to access the emotional strength of colours.
My work is inspired by everyday events and images. The sights and sounds of ordinary life offer profound discoveries to my sensibility.
Since my graduation from art college in 1983, I have done many commissioned works for individuals and organizations. My paintings reside in many private and public collections in Canada. I have also had the pleasure of selling paintings to collectors in New York, New Zealand, France and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
